Specialized Sex Therapy, Available Anywhere in New Jersey

Whether you’re in Newark, Jersey City, Princeton, or anywhere else in the state, Kind Mind Psychology offers virtual sex therapy with clinicians who have the specialized training most therapists don’t.

Our founder, Dr. Monica Johnson, PsyD, is an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. AASECT certification is the gold standard in sex therapy and requires extensive training in human sexuality beyond a doctoral degree. That level of expertise means Kind Mind can work with the full range of sexual concerns, including those that other therapists may not feel equipped to address.

What We Help With

Sex therapy at Kind Mind covers low desire and desire discrepancy, arousal and orgasm difficulties, sexual pain, performance anxiety, the impact of trauma on sexuality, sexual identity and orientation exploration, intimacy challenges in LGBTQ+ relationships, sex within polyamorous, ENM, and kink dynamics, shame and negative sexual scripts, and reconnecting after infidelity or major life changes.

We work with individuals and couples of all orientations, gender identities, and relationship structures.

How It Works

All sessions are virtual. Sex therapy is talk-based and uses evidence-based approaches including CBTEMDRDBT, and Sensate Focus exercises. You connect from the privacy of your own home, which most clients prefer for this work.

Insurance & Fees

We accept Aetna and Cigna for New Jersey clients. Sliding scale starts at $25 per session. For full details, visit our Insurance & Fees page.
