We believe cost should never be the reason someone doesn’t get the mental health care they need. That’s been true since the day we opened, and it’s true today. We accept several major insurance plans, offer reduced rate slots, and work hard to make therapy accessible at every budget. If cost is a concern, please contact our office. We do our best to get people in regardless of budget.
We are in-network with the following insurance providers:
Aetna — Accepted for all services in all states we serve.
Cigna — Accepted for all services in all states we serve.
Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) — Accepted in North Carolina only.
Northwell Direct — Accepted in New York only.
UnitedHealthcare (UHC) — Accepted for DBT group therapy services only.
HealthFirst — Coming soon. Contact us if you are a HealthFirst member and we will let you know as soon as we are accepting this plan.
If you don’t see your insurance listed, that doesn’t mean we can’t work together. Many clients use out-of-network benefits to cover a portion of their session costs, and we can provide you with a superbill (a detailed receipt) that you submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. We also offer reduced rate slots and work on a case-by-case basis to make sure cost isn’t the thing that keeps you from getting help. The best thing to do is reach out to us and let us figure it out together.
If you’d like to use your insurance for therapy at Kind Mind, here’s what to do:
Before your first session, call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask the following questions: Does my plan cover outpatient mental health services? Do I have a copay, coinsurance, or deductible for behavioral health visits? Is Kind Mind Psychology in-network with my plan? Do I need a referral or prior authorization?
You can also contact our office and our team will help you verify your benefits before your first appointment. We want this part to be as painless as possible.
If your insurance plan is not listed above, you may still have out-of-network (OON) benefits that can reimburse you for a significant portion of your session costs. Here’s how it works: you pay our session fee at the time of service, we provide you with a superbill, and you submit it to your insurance company for reimbursement. Reimbursement rates vary by plan, but many of our clients recover 50 to 80 percent of their session costs this way.
To find out if you have out-of-network benefits, call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask: Does my plan include out-of-network mental health coverage? What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much of it have I met? What percentage of the session fee will be reimbursed after I meet my deductible?
Our fees vary based on the clinician’s level of training, licensure, and experience. Every clinician on our team is deeply trained and supervised, and every client receives the same standard of care.
