About Me
Hello, my name is Jordan Howell. I am a second-year Clinical Psychology doctoral student at St. John’s University and hold a B.A. and M.A in Psychology. From my perspective, it is important to consider therapy from a biopsychosocial approach as it recognizes that individuals’ physical, mental, and social health all relate to their thoughts, behaviors, and goals.
Together, we will aim to delve into the narrative of your life to better understand your difficulties and strive toward improving them. This allows us to be aware of how you developed your values and beliefs as well as how they currently shape your life and treatment goals. I am a trauma informed practitioner with a background in CBT and DBT.
Besides clinical work, I also enjoy psychological research. This is where I obtained some of my experience working with individuals with depression, anxiety, and PTSD symptomology. Further, I have also worked on research related to Alzheimer’s disease.
No matter the difficulties that you present with, the process of treatment will involve openness, critical thinking, and the development of greater present-moment awareness. I’m glad to be working with you on this expedition of therapy.
